Things to Do on WonderHowTo (12/07 - 12/13)

WonderHowTo is made up niche communities called Worlds. If you've yet to join one (or create your own), get a taste below of what's going on in the community. Check in every Wednesday for a roundup of new activities and projects.

This week: A double exposure cell phone photography challenge, a workshop on creating combination locks in Minecraft, several DIY math art projects, and more!

Challenges and Workshops

  • Phone Snap!—This week's Phone Snap! challenge calls for you to use an app of your choice to create a double exposure image, an effect generally created using traditional film or Photoshop. Admin Elaine Chang has posted an Android app walkthrough for achieving the effect, as well as recommendations for additional apps you can use. Enter now for a chance to win your own DIY pinhole camera kit! You have until December 12th to participate.

  • The International iPhoneography Exhibition in NYC—As an additional perk this week, Phone Snap is offering a promotion specifically for iPhone users. The International iPhoneography Exhibition has asked for Phone Snap's three best iPhone shots for their upcoming show, which will take place from December 16th-22nd at The Soho Gallery for Digital Art in New York City. The catch: All entries must be edited using the FX Photo Studio app. Submit by Saturday, December 10th at 11:59pm PST. The three winners will be announced on the following Sunday at 10:00am PST. More details here.

Join the rest of the Minecraft World crew on the server this Saturday, December 10th at 4:00pm CST, as admin Jon Hook will be demonstrating the art of redstone locksmithing. More details on the workshop here; if you still haven't joined the server, there are details on getting whitelisted here.
