What is Worlds?
WonderHowTo's always been a place for the best, hand-curated videos and articles. As we've grown, we've also found the need to create a different space for WonderHowTo's growing community. With Worlds, we provide you with the tools you'll need to create your own community within WonderHowTo, about what you love.
WonderHowTo Worlds is a place for you to share your knowledge about what's new, what's great, in your space, whether it's web games, movies, or music.
What can you do in Worlds?
When you create a World, you'll get your own subdomain on WonderHowTo. For example, if you're a fly-fishing expert, you could claim the site fly-fishing.wonderhowto.com. Just click on the Create a New World button. Now the real fun begins.
The Home Page
If you haven't added anything yet, this message will be the first thing you'll see. We suggest you start by writing a welcome entry for the Admin's Blog. As the Admin of your World, you'll be the only one with access to writing and creating Blog entries. Below the Home tab, you'll see Admin Picks. This is where you'll add your favorite videos, posts, or images. You've got 6 slots to fill, and if you add a new pick, the oldest pick will get bumped off. You can "pin" to your World from within WonderHowTo. Just select your post, and click on the yellow pin to add the post or video to your World, on either your Corkboard or as an Admin Pick.
Below the Admin Picks is the Activity Feed, which will show the latest updates to your World, whether it's a comment, a Corkboard post, or a Blog post.
Corkboard
The Corkboard is one of our favorite features. WonderHowTo users can join your World and participate by posting videos, images and links on your Corkboard. As the World Admin, it's up to you how you want the Corkboard to be focused, and you'll be able to pin and delete links and videos at your discretion. Corkboard posts are sorted by the "Last Updated" but you can also sort by Newest, Most Popular, Most Discussed, and Most Viewed.
Forum
Run your own forum. Members of your World can ask and answer questions here. It's a great way to get to know your fellow WonderHowTo members, and learn all about what makes them tick, and what gets them excited about your topic.
Blog
As the Admin of your World, you're the only one who has access to the Blog feature on your World. Write about whatever you want; just click on Add New Post. You can make the blog posts as long or as short as you want; fill them up with pictures and video.
Members
Members are the users who've decided they've liked your World enough to participate in it. They can join your World just by posting something on your World. You have the option of blocking or rejecting members if they get out of hand. Rejected members can rejoin your World at any time, but blocked members will not be able to participate on your World at all. You can also follow and friend other members from here.
To invite more members to your World, just click where it says "Click here to invite more people to join your World." You can send email invitations for up to 10 people, and personalize your invitation message.
